Downtown Revitalization Project – Update #21

Last week, curb preparation and grading was completed on the south end of the west side of Meredith Street, and crews installed the conduits for the new streetlight wiring on the north side. This week, tree root barriers are being put in place, and grading and curb preparation will continue on the north end of Meredith. Looking ahead, after the long weekend, curb installation will begin marking the exciting start of rebuilding the second half of the street.
We’re also aware of the temporary pooling of water near the church on the east side of Meredith. This is simply because the road is still under construction and for now the curb sits higher than the road. Once the new road surface goes in at the end of the project, everything will drain properly into the catch basins and the issue will be gone. In the meantime, our crews are keeping a close eye on it and will manage any pooling during rainfalls.
Thank you for your patience and support as we get closer to the finish line. It won’t be long before we’re all enjoying a brand new downtown core together.
