Gore Bay Provincial Offences Payment Options:
We accept payment by mail, by telephone, in person, or by dropping payment into the library book drop box beside the back door of our building at 15 Water St, Gore Bay, ON. WE DO NOT HAVE AN ONLINE PAYMENT OPTION. Interac E- transfer is available. You are required to contact the POA office at 705-282-2837 for instructions before sending E- transfer. Payment will not be applied accordingly unless you contact us first.
Cheques and money orders are to be made payable to Town of Gore Bay – POA.
VISA/MasterCard payments may be made by mail, by telephone (705)282-2837, in person or you can drop payment into the library book drop box beside the back door of our building. If you need to leave a telephone message, your message will be returned at our earliest opportunity.
If your fine is due and you are seeking an extension of time to pay your fine(s), the form required (Application for Extension of Time to Pay Fine – Form POA 0809) to be completed and submitted for consideration for each fine is available here. Please also refer to the sheet attached to the Application for Extension of Time to Pay Fine – Form POA 0809 outlining the amounts of payment(s) expected to have an extension application approved by the Clerk of the Court. Good faith is expected by this court, and extensions are not granted if payments are not made as required.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IN RELATION TO COVID-19:
Our office is open to the public, but payments and tickets (ticket filing) may still be dropped off at the back door of the building using the Library Book Drop Box. The POA office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Friday.
Timelines for Provincial Offences Act matters have returned to normal. With Gore Bay POA you can request a trial or request an early resolution meeting by selecting the desired option on your Offence Notice. As indicated on your Offence Notice, once you have indicated your desired option, you may file your request in person, or by mailing, faxing, or emailing the Offence Notice marked accordingly with your desired option, to the POA office. Notices of Intention to Appear and Replacement of Missing Offence – Form 4 may also be used to file requests for Trials and Early Resolution Meetings. COURT APPEARANCES
At Gore Bay POA we conduct Early Resolution Meetings once per month by Zoom Meeting Audio or Zoom Meeting Video. You may also attend at 15 Water Street, Gore Bay, ON in-person.
POA trials have now resumed after lengthy delays resulting from COVID-19 postponements. Notices for Part I trials delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic have been issued. Please inquire if you should have received a Notice of Trial and have not yet received one.
If you were summoned to appear in court for a provincial offence during the period March 16, 2020, up to and including January 22, 2021, please note that all Part III matters adjourned under Provincial Offences Act, Section 49 (5)(b) due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, have been rescheduled and notices to appear in court issued. If you have not yet received a notice to appear in court by Zoom Meeting, you should inquire as to the status of your case. Matters are being heard and set for trials, or trials in abstentia, and you may be convicted in your absence, in the event you do not attend your court appearance.

IF YOU RECEIVED A SUMMONS TO ATTEND GORE BAY POA COURT AT 9001 HY6 LITTLE CURRENT, ON, YOUR APPEARANCE MUST BE DONE BY ZOOM MEETING, UNLESS YOU ATTEND IN PERSON AT THE GORE BAY COURT LOCATION. WE DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE THE TECHNICAL CAPABILITY TO HOLD IN PERSON COURT APPEARANCES AT LITTLE CURRENT AND ARE THEREFORE CONDUCTING ALL OF OUR COURTS AT/FROM THE GORE BAY LOCATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
