PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IN RELATION TO COVID-19:
The provincial State of Emergency declared as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic ended September 11, 2020, however some court operations still remain limited at this time.
Some of the statutory timelines remain extended up to and including February 26, 2021, including time to exercise your options on the Offence Notice (ticket). Defendants who are charged with an offence during this period and wish to exercise their options on the back of a ticket, including disputing the ticket, will have an opportunity to do so once the statutory timelines resume. Currently, tickets/notices may be filed with Gore Bay POA by fax (705-282-3076), by email (gorebaypoa@gorebay.ca) or by using the library dropbox.
At Gore Bay POA we resumed Early Resolution Meetings – Audio only, in October 2020. We are currently working on resumption of POA trials with expectations they will be by remote appearance (audio and/or video).
All in-person provincial offences trials are being rescheduled. If you are a defendant, a notice of your new court date will be sent to you by mail to the address on file with the court. If you were summoned to appear in court for a provincial offence during the period March 16, 2020 up to and including January 22, 2021, you do not need to attend, as the matter will be rescheduled.
