GORE BAY MEMORIAL ARENA
The Gore Bay Memorial Arena was constructed in 1949 and for the past 60+ years has been the main winter activity centre for Gore Bay and surrounding communities. The arena provides many forms of recreation to the citizens of Western Manitoulin including figure skating, Minor Hockey, Sportsmen hockey, women's hockey, and public skating. The arena is also used by the local elementary school as part of their physical education program.
The Friends of the Arena Fundraising Group was established in order to fundraise for renovations to the arena and due to their hard work new dressing rooms were built in time for the 2010/2011 season. Fundraising is ongoing in order to keep the arena as up to date as possible. Thank you to all volunteers for their hard work!
