Gore Bay has a long tradition of exceptional community theatre going back more than 50 years. The Gore Bay Theatre is housed in our Community Hall at 52 Meredith Street.
This award winning theatre features a range of plays during the month of July.

“Funny and moving” Shirley Valentine tells the story of an ordinary English housewife telling the wall about her husband, her children, and her past. It was a hit in in London and New York and the movie won an oscar nomination for its lead actress. New York Post called it “absolutely smashing” and the New York Daily News said “a joyful, captivating piece of theatre”. (Adult Content)

Two of life’s losers pass an evening huddled for warmth in the basement of a derelict prairie hotel. together they act out their fantasies until interrupted by the hotel’s caretaker.
